Volunteers

Without volunteers we wouldn’t be able to make such a difference to the lives of our members and be so involved in our local community.

From supporting members, helping with the practical operation of the Café, both front of house and in the kitchen, through to providing administrative support, helping at events and with fundraising, the time and energy given from volunteers to Outside the Box is exceptional.

Our volunteers include retired people, professionals, unemployed and self-employed people, parents, students, young people and parents/carers of adults and young people with a learning disability. You can volunteer as often and for as long as you wish.

Volunteering with us is not a one-way street. We provide regular volunteer training, networking and the opportunity to have a say about how Outside the Box works.

Volunteer Buddies needed

We are looking for some volunteers who would be interested in buddying up with a member on a specific day and time during the week to offer specific support to that member in a hands-on way within the café.

OTB Buddies will help provide extra resources for our dedicated staff. We will look to match you to someone that may share the same interests as you, have things in common, or know you already as a volunteer, we will also look to match days and times that work with you.
